Nordic Naturals adheres to the Norwegian Medicinal Standard (NMS) and the European Pharmacopoeia Standard (EPS) for all products which ensure that products are of the highest quality and set maximum allowances on peroxides, heavy metals, dioxins, furans and PCBs/
- Exceptional Freshness Levels
Nordic Naturals utilise a patented oxygen-free manufacturing process which delivers peroxide levels down to absolute 0.0 mEq/kg, with an average of 0.75mEq/kg. This is approximately 14 times lower than the Norwegian Medicinal Standard and European Pharmacopoeia Standard Limits! The lower the peroxide level, the fresher the fish oil.
These low peroxide levels also ensure that free radical formation is prevented in the body which can have negative effects.

Nordic Naturals products do not have any detectable lead or mercury when tested down to 10 ppb which is 10 times lower than the Norwegian Medicinal Standard and European Pharmacopoeia Standard Limits.
Nordic Natural oils have also been tested down to 0.5ppt with 0 detection of dioxins and furans. There are also no detectable PCBs when tested down to 0.5ppt.

Why do Nordic Naturals use the Triglyceride form of fish oil?
Nordic Naturals use the natural triglyceride form of fish oil which contains a glycerol backbone. This helps to stabilise the oil molecules in their natural form. When an ethyl ester form is used, the fish oils are highly unstable and can break down.
Additionally, when a fish oil is digested, they get converted into fatty acids. These fatty acids are then converted into triglycerides. If there is a lack of glycerol backbone, as is the case with ethyl esters, then the oil cannot be converted into the triglyceride form and increases the risk of free radical formation which can be harmful to the body.

All Nordic Natural products have certificates of analysis which prove that the products meet international quality standards. Every batch of products is third party tested in laboratories in the United States, Canada and Norway.
