Should Kids take Vitamins?
In general, kids that eat a healthy and balanced diet should be able to get all the vitamins and nutrients they need from food.
That said, a lot of kids don’t eat as healthy as they could and picky eaters could end up missing out on essential minerals and nutrients.
For babies it is important that they get a Vitamin D supplement and this is recommended by the NHS as well as the majority of doctors. Vitamin D is important for bone development and the immune system.
What vitamins should my child take?
Vitamin C can build immunity for children so might be particularly useful around “Back to school” time.
Vitamin D is important for healthy teeth and bones as well as immunity. Most people get their Vitamin D naturally from the sun so this can be particularly useful during the winter months.
Multi-vitamins are broad spectrum. They will provide all the essential nutrients that your child needs so can be particularly useful if your child is struggling to eat a healthy and balanced diet.
