All you need to know about Skincare
How often should I use face masks?
Use a face mask once to twice per week if you have sensitive skin.
Everyone's skin needs are different, and you should soon see whether your skin requires less or more face mask application based on how it reacts when using the product.
If you start to notice that your skin feels irritated, stop using face masks, or use them less frequently.
Keeping your skin deeply cleansed and well hydrated is important, and both are benefits that face masks provide.
What is a serum – is it like moisturiser?
A serum is gel-like in consistency and is full of antioxidants that fight free radical damage. Serums help ageing skin to combat fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, acne and excess oil. You can get serums that are either water or oil based. Water based serums are better for oily skins. Serums are more hydrating than creams and lotions, and it is best to apply them before applying moisturiser. Serum will help moisturiser to sink into the skin more deeply.
How often should I apply a serum?
Apply serum up to twice a day, in the morning and evening, as part of your usual skincare routine. If you have sensitive skin, note that some serums do contain retinol, which is a form of vitamin A that can cause skin sensitivity. In this case, you might want to limit use to once per day, depending on how your skin reacts. What ingredients should I look for in a day cream? Day creams tend to be lighter in consistency than night cream, yet will contain UV protection such as SPF 15 or more. Many day creams also include vitamin C to brighten skin and increase melanin production to naturally boost skin protection from the sun. You should use a day cream all year round to protect your skin.
