The importance of good nutrition for both baby and mother during pregnancy cannot be overstated.
However, ensuring that there is sufficient intake of vitamins, like folic acid and vitamin D, as well as minerals and the omega-3 fatty acid DHA can sometimes be difficult to achieve. The ProVen pregnancy multipack combines 20 essential vitamins and trace minerals at levels tailored to be most suitable for the pregnancy period. It also provides 200mg of the omega-3 fatty acid DHA which alone makes up about 11% of the weight of the human brain. It is also now recognised that healthy bacteria are just as important to the new born baby as to adults and that the establishment of a robust population of friendly microflora as soon after birth as possible is critical in driving the development of a healthy immune and intestinal function. However, it is now acknowledged that modern living conditions, particularly for the newborn baby, may inhibit or slow down the natural development of the normal flora, and that this process needs a ‘boost‘ to help intestinal and immune development. Evidence now also suggests that the acquisition of a beneficial flora in the newborn can be significantly enhanced if the mother also takes a probiotic during pregnancy.
RECOMMENDED DAILY INTAKE:
As a food supplement take one ‘tear off strip’ of 1 capsule and 1 softgel daily with food during pregnancy.
