Quest Vitamins L-Lysin provides 500mg of the essential amino acid L-lysine. Amino acids are used by the body to form proteins, which are required for biological functions and cell structures. L-lysine supports immune function and has been shown to inhibit the herpes simplex virus responsible for cold sores. It may increase the absorption of calcium and recommended as a supplement for those eating a vegetarian or vegan diet as it is not found in many non animal foods. Directions: Take one to six capsules daily with food
