What is Eucerin Urea Repair Plus 10% Urea Lotion?
When the skin on our bodies has a stable, healthy barrier function, it helps to protect the skin from external irritants and maintain its optimal level of hydration. But when that barrier is impaired, skin can lose moisture and look and feel dry as a result.
Eucerin Urea Repair Plus 10% Urea Lotion is a moisturiser which helps provide care to very dry, rough skin. It utilises a unique combination of ingredients including Urea, Ceramides and other Natural Moisturising Factors (NMFs) to help keep skin moisturised.
This formula is clinically and dermatologically proven to deliver immediate relief and intense, long-lasting moisturisation which delays dryness and roughness for up to 48 hours.
This lotion is suitable for mature skin and those with Diabetes, Psoriasis and Keratosis Pilaris. It can also be used as adjunctive care.

Urea:
Urea is produced naturally by the skin as is part of the essential Natural Moisturising Factor NMF) which helps to keep the moisture content of the skin regulated. Urea is a hydroscopic, meaning that it binds moisture to the outermost layer of the skin, and also acts as a keratolytic to get rid of dead skin cells. As a result, this ingredient helps to soothe and smoothe the skin's surface as well as providing anti-itch and anti-microbial benefits.
Natural Moisturising Factors:
These attract and bind water to the outer layers of the skin which help to prevent scaly and dry skin. The Urea Repair Plus range replicates the natural composition of NMF's within healthy skin, providing dry skin the ingredients it needs for optimal hydration.
Ceramides:
Ceramides are lipids which are in the hydrolipid film of the skin (this helps to protect the external layers of the skin). They help to strengthen the skin barrier, prevent moisture loss and protect the skin from irritatants which can result in inflammation and itching. Eucerin utilises synthetic ceramides which are biologically-identical and help to enhance the skin's natural barrier. This helps to lock moisture in the skin and prevent dryness and irritation.
