CeraVe Rough & Bumpy Skin FAQs

What Is Bumpy Skin?

Rough and bumpy skin is often caused by a dead-cell build-up that clogs pores. These may look like red spots, whiteheads, blackheads or raised skin.

Why am I getting little bumps on my skin?

Skin can look and feel bumpy due to various factors such as hormones, heat, sun exposure, a virus, irritation or clogged pores from a build-up of oil, dirt or bacteria.

How can I remove bumpy skin?

Properly cleaning and moisturising your skin on a regular basis (twice daily) can help you to get rid of rough and bumpy skin.

What Do CeraVe Rough & Bumpy Skin Products Do?

CeraVe Rough & Bumpy Skin Products are a select group of skincare cleansers, serums and creams designed to help you deal with rough and bumpy skin. Using these products will allow you to properly exfoliate skin and prevent dead skin cell build-up, and moisturise to help skin heal to a smooth and soft texture.

Is CeraVe SA Cream Good For Keratosis Pilaris?

Keratosis Pilaris bumps are usually small red or dark spots and may also cause dry and rough skin. CeraVe's SA creams contain urea to retain moisture and salicylic acid to exfoliate skin, ideal for dealing with Keratosis Pilaris.

CeraVe SA Smoothing Moisturising Cream is good for keratosis pilaris because it contains salicylic acid and LHA. Salicylic acid and LHA exfoliate the skin to clear the pores of the build-up that can cause keratosis pilaris. Dry skin can clog pores with dead skin cells causing keratosis pilaris and in turn, keratosis pilaris can also cause dry and rough skin. The urea and hyaluronic acid are hydrating agents in the Cerave SA Smoothing Moisturising Cream to relieve dry skin. CeraVe’s 3 essential ceramides protect the skin’s barrier from dirt to stop keratosis pilaris from developing in the first place.

Can CeraVe Rough & Bumpy Skin Be Used On The Face?

CeraVe SA Smoothing Moisturising Cream should only be used on the body (not the face), whereas the CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser is for both the face and body. The CeraVe SA Renewing Foot Cream is a richer formula than the others and so should only be used on the feet to treat dry and rough skin.
